How much space remains in the bag when the lunch compartment is full?
When the insulated lunch layer is in use with a standard meal (sandwich + side + small container), you'll still have approximately 60-70% of the upper bag space for laptop, planner, notebook, and essentials.
For maximum upper-bag capacity (e.g., when packing for travel or a meeting-heavy day), simply fold the insulated layer flat and secure it to the sides. You'll recover the full 32-liter interior.

Does it fit a 16-inch MacBook Pro or other 17" laptops?

Yes. The side pockets are specifically sized for 40oz tumblers. Verified compatible:

How long does the insulation really keep food cold? (12-hour shift?)
The 3-layer insulation (H280 polyester twill + EPE foam core + leakproof PEVA lining) keeps food cold for up to 10 hours under typical conditions (room temperature 70-75°F).
For 12-hour shifts: Add a slim ice pack (we recommend our Reusable Ice Pack) directly inside the insulated compartment. With an added ice pack, meals can stay cold through a full 12-hour shift.
Hot food: Stays warm 5 hours. For longer warmth, pre-warm a thermal flask separately for hot soup or oatmeal.
Is the bag machine washable?
The exterior is spot-clean only with damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash the bag itself (the PU leather handles and metal hardware can warp).
The insulated lining is wipe-clean — the PEVA waterproof surface means spills wipe off without staining. Most working women keep it clean with a quick wipe-down weekly.
For tougher spots, dab with mild soap and a damp cloth, then air dry — avoid soaking the bag.
The bag looks beautiful — is it actually heavy?
Empty weight: 2.56 lbs (1.16 kg). That's lighter than many leather designer totes and comparable to high-end nylon work bags.
However: When you pack a laptop (4 lbs) + Stanley full (3 lbs) + lunch with ice pack (2 lbs) + accessories (2 lbs), the total carry weight reaches 13-14 lbs. That's the reality of carrying everything in one bag.
