We Were the Teachers Who Got Tired of Carrying Four Bags. So We Built One.
It started with our own frustration. A few of us came out of the classroom — and out of the teachers' lounge where there was never room in the fridge. Every morning: laptop bag, lunch bag, grading tote, purse, and a 40oz balanced in one hand. The walk felt less like "the professional in charge" and more like "someone moving out."
Then we realized it wasn't just us. Elementary, middle, high school, the nurses and counselors down the hall — every teacher described the same morning. The "bag lady" walk wasn't a personal failing. It was a bag problem nobody had solved.
So we built the bag that didn't exist. Not a lunch bag with a laptop pocket as an afterthought. One designer-looking tote that carried the whole classroom day — and kept lunch cool with no fridge in the building.
Every frustration became a feature
- "My lunch is warm by my break" → leakproof insulated compartment + a reusable ice pack in the box.
- "My Stanley never has a home" → SideFit™ holders sized for a 40oz, both sides.
- "Everything sinks to the bottom" → 17 organized pockets.
- "My packed lunch gets smashed" → FlexShelf™, a soft fold-down insulated layer.
- "I look frazzled walking in" → Quilted Diamond, 3-tone Beige-Black-Brown that looks like a $200 designer tote.
We listened — and kept improving it. The newest VERA TOTE added the two 40oz holders early buyers asked for (the first version had none), expanded to 17 pockets, and added a roomier 17.3" size. It's better because teachers told us what was missing.
Teachers made it real. Today VERA TOTE has 281+ verified reviews at 4.6★ — and the line we hear most is the one that started it all: "I finally look more together walking in."
"25 years teaching, best bag I've owned. Laptop, frozen meal, Coke Zero, and my manuals all fit." — Kendra, Verified Buyer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
